2020 in Pictures
Let’s face it: 2020 wasn’t great. For lots of reasons. However, we maintained our optimism because any decent grape-growing winemaker knows, you have to keep your optimism as full as your wine glass!
To Summarize
Officially got into our first restaurants (Vera Cruz Sr and Vera Cruz Jr) early in the year. This this marked the last time we went to a restaurant for about 8 months.
Pruned, planted, and built some more trellises
Re-hauled our website to adapt to the times and allow for curbside pickup and local delivery, both of which will always be available now, year-round and every day
We “opened” by serving wine out of the window, an experience as unenjoyable to us as it was to our customers. But everyone needed wine and where there’s a will there’s a way! Take that, covid
Built a glorious pavilion, just in time to be able to celebrated America in July and our 5 year anniversary in September (as safely as we could)
Finished filming with PBS for a future episode of “Making”. Production has been delayed due to covid, because in case anyone has forgotten, covid is just the worst
Harvested over 10,000lbs of grapes and made wine with the ones that Samuel didn’t eat
Made it to the finish line.
Here’s to being hopeful for 2021 being different. Cheers!
